Why am I doing this?
Well, I'm curious. But, I have hurdles when it comes to discussing things with people. First, I don't seem to know a lot of people. Okay, well, that's not true. I do know a lot of people, but there's not a lot of people that I know that seem interested in simply "chatting." But here's my thing about talking about stuff... I don't care to change your mind about anything, but I want you to understand what I'm talking about and where I'm coming from... just as I want to understand where you're coming from. I've never learned anything from somebody I haven't tried to understand. (Don't think about that too much or it will make much less sense.)
My problem is that we're slowly (in the loosest sense of the word, maybe) becoming a society where a centrist philosophy is harder and harder to find. Every imaginable viewpoint is being shoved down our throat like it's a life or death decision... likely making ourselves so preoccupied with the mundane that those important decisions are being made for us by those whose viewpoints are so extreme that they shouldn't be making decisions for themselves, let alone us.
So, that's why I'm here. There's stuff I like to talk about and I want to find others who want to talk about it with me. I've just opened up a little Comic Book Club, too, to talk about that stuff. Comic fans are probably more rabid than political junkies and I'd like to find some people out there who still enjoy their hobby.
And don't think of this place as a one-sided conversation. If you have stuff you want to talk about... then talk about it. I'd hate to think of the idea of "differing viewpoints" as being one that dies while I'm still alive, so I promise both of my regular visitors that it won't happen on my watch!
So please, register, log in, (join the comic club, if you dare!), and join the hornaCommunity :! |

How Stuff Works link
The link above is to the How Stuff Works page on ways to get fingernail polish out of and off of different things.
I was looking for a page like this because my daughter spilled fingernail polish on our mattress/sheets, etc.
What this got me thinking about was, "Is this the only god damn way we can make fingernail polish?" Someone can lean against my ...

I've never really understood our fanaticism over the nude human body. We wonder how, as a society, so much emphasis can be placed on the way we look when most people are raised with the belief that they should always be covered up or to be ashamed of their body. (I don't necessarily buy both of those as being the same thing.)
But, in this case, I'm only focusing on one part of the body... nipples. Proof that there is an intelligent designer up there because, other ...
